Interesting Bear Encounter!!
Who's ready for spring bear? We sure are! It won't be long until we head into bear camp to clear and clean trails, bait and prepare for all of our awesome guests traveling north to hunt with us here at Manitoba's only exclusive black bear lodge. It's going to be a busy and exciting season across all of our hunting camps here in the North Country. See you soon!
The below video was taken last fall (2025) while I was taking down a tree stand. There was a bear already on the bait that i was watching when all of a sudden I caught movement to my left and this young bear with a GPS collar and a tag in each ear came wandering through. Data collected from the GPS collar is crucial and is extremely important to the great management of our black bears that our Manitoba Conservation takes very serious. It will be interesting and I can't wait to find out if this bear is seen again this spring in our travels.
